Today we mourn the loss of a founding Life Member, and true friend to all, Charles "Duffy" Walker. Duffy is one of many that has given a lifetime to the fire service with only one goal, to serve and protect the citizens of Stafford County. In 1966 he along side a handful of others, formed the Hartwood Volunteer Fire Department after a tragedy that struck our community. Family always came first to Duffy, but he still found time to serve the fire service over the next four decades. In 2009, Duffy came out of retirement to assist with many other members in a major hands on renovation of the Fire Station that provides for the next generation. He will be truly missed by all !!!
